Beijing Municipal Bureau of Finance manages overall economic control and fiscal revenue and expenditure on behalf of Beijing Municipal Government. Its major responsibilities include the following:
1. To formulate mid term and long-term fiscal plans and annual fiscal budget for Beijing.
2. To draft financial and tax policies and to promote the development of national economy.
3. To manage the budget capital, to ratify budgets for various government departments and units and to verify budget implementation.
4. To formulate and enforce accounting regulations for government entities and enterprises.
5. To oversee work of registered accountants associations and to conduct performance evaluation of the accounting and auditing firms.
6. To manage state assets ownership registration, state assets evaluation, state assets profits and ownership disputes.
7. To manage government debts.
8. To supervise government and enterprise purchasing.
9. To supervise fiscal and state assets management work of Beijing's districts and counties.
