Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture has the following major responsibilities:
1. To study and formulate cultural development strategies and long-term regulations for the development of cultural sector in Beijing.
2. To manage and inspect the cultural market.
3. To direct the cultural works of counties and municipalities directly under the Central Government.
4. To manage important cultural activities and research and execute the system-wide reform of cultural management.
5. To execute cultural and economic policies and to adjust and supervise the investment and management the arts.
6. To formulate plans and regulations for training of artistic and cultural personnel.
7. To manage and direct foreign cultural exchanges activities.
8. To undertake other relevant assignments from Beijing Municipal Government.
