Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture has the following responsibilities:
1. To formulate local rules and regulations concerning product management and technology application of the city's grain, oil and vegetables.
2. To execute these rules and regulations. To organize and guide the scientific experiments into grain, oil and vegetable production, develop key technological projects and set up a system spreading agricultural high technology.
3. To supervise and examine ecological agriculture, the agricultural environment, countryside's resource exploitation and green food; to build a network of agriculture information.
4. To organize and guide the forecasting, examination and treatment of crops, insects and pests.
5. To conduct plant quarantine.
6. To handle agriculture-related foreign exchange affairs and foreign trade management.
7. To handle other relevant work assigned by the Beijing Municipal Government.
