 Foreign Affairs Office of the People¡¯s Government of Beijing Municipality
 
Foreign Affairs Office of the People¡¯s Government of Beijing Municipality has the following responsibilities:
1. To implement and carry out the state foreign principles, policies and relevant laws and regulations as well as the decisions made by Communist Party of China (CPC) Beijing Committee and Beijing Municipal Government.
2. To study and formulate working schemes and plans for foreign affairs in Beijing, supervise relevant departments to implement foreign principles, policies and relevant regulations and to coordinate and deal with key foreign affairs in Beijing.
3. To conduct investigation and study according to the needs in the process of economic and social development as well as the opening-up campaign and to provide proposals and suggestions for the decision-making of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Municipality.
4. Under the authority of Foreign Ministry and Beijing Municipality, to examine and approve business travel and invitation for foreigners to work in Beijing, to issue passports and apply visas for business travelers, to undertake business visa application and relevant consulate affairs for some of foreigners in Beijing and to report documents concerning foreign affairs submitted by departments for approval to CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Municipality.
5. To organize and coordinate large-scale international activities hosted by Beijing Municipality and BFAO, to receive key state and party guests to visit Beijing and to plan and arrange foreign activities for the leading officials of Beijing Municipality.
6. To administrate and coordinate with foreign consulates stationed in Beijing, to plan, arrange and administrate foreign affairs between municipal departments and foreign consulates and to administrate departments which provide employee services for foreign enterprises, representative offices and news agencies.
7. To be responsible for foreign affairs with foreign sister cities, sister districts (counties) and other sister departments and to direct non-government foreign affairs.
8. To coordinate and administrate foreign experts working in Beijing, to administrate foreign correspondents that come to Beijing for news, foreign news agencies stationed in Beijing and their correspondents and to coordinate and deal with key foreign affairs with foreigners.
9. To provide identical attitudes and ways to deal with foreign affairs for municipal departments in Beijing and to assist to go over key news release and other relevant manuscripts.
10. To educate and train the people in foreign affairs departments in Beijing about foreign policies and disciplines.
11. To assist relevant departments to examine the implementation of foreign discipline and secrecy and to make proposals and suggestions for relevant departments on the violation against foreign disciplines.
12. To be responsible for daily affairs of foreign affairs office of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
13. To implement and carry out the state principles and policies for Hong Kong and Macao affairs and to be responsible for affairs with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region and to promote exchange and cooperation in all aspects.
14. To undertake her responsibilities instructed by Beijing Municipality and CPC Beijing Committee.
