Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People¡¯s Government of Beijing Municipality has main responsibilities include the following:
1. To draw up and carry out regulations concerning nationals living abroad.
2. To protect the legal rights and benefits of the overseas Chinese living in Beijing, together with overseas Chinese who have resettled in the homeland and the relatives of the overseas Chinese, who remain in the homeland.
3. To handle issues concerning the resettlement of overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao.
4. To deal with donations from overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao and work together with relevant departments for overseas Chinese investment enterprises.
5. To undertake cultural exchange and Chinese language teaching work.
6. To be responsible for the reception and arrangement of visiting overseas Chinese and Hong Kong and Macao compatriots.
7. To handle other relevant work assigned by the Beijing Municipal Government.
