Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine's main responsibilities include the following:
1. To implement state policies and regulations on traditional Chinese medicine administration and to draft and implement local rules and specifications on traditional Chinese medicine administration in Beijing.
2. To conduct research on overall development plan and objectives for the Chinese traditional medicine industry of Beijing and coordinate allocation of traditional medicine resources. To manage special traditional medicine fund and to participate in setting and adjusting of traditional medicine treatments' pricing standards.
3. To approve and manage new traditional medicine hospitals, hospitals that offers a combination of Chinese medicine and western medicine services and minority medicine hospitals. To draft and supervise the implementation of relevant management standards, medical quality and technology standards and service requirement.
4. To draft and supervise the implementation of relevant regulations and standards on traditional medicine treatment, healthcare, recovery, nursing and clinic medicines. To promote qualification for staff of Beijing's traditional medicine industry.
5. To plan and conduct traditional medicine research and development, organize key new traditional medicine research projects and undertake technical assessment of new traditional medicine technologies and promote those approved new technologies.
6. To draft and supervise the implementation of traditional medicine education and training and liaise with Beijing's traditional medicine associations and groups.
7. To coordinate foreign exchanges and technological cooperation on traditional medicine for Beijing.
8. To undertake other relevant assignments from Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Health Bureau.
