Fengtai is one of eight urban districts in Beijing with an area of 306 sqare kilometres (sq. km) and a population of 1.36 million people. Fengtai lies largely south and southwest of Downtown Beijing. It is bordered on the east by Chaoyang District, on the north by Chongwen, Xuanwu, Haidian and Shijingshan districts, Mentougou District on the northwest, Fangshan District on the southwest and Daxing County to the southeast.  Fengtai is getting more nationwide and worldwide attention because of its social and economic development. Although not as well known as Chaoyang or Haidian districts, which are the most famous business and high-tech areas in Beijing, Fengtai still has many outstanding qualities and is an ideal place to start a business or to invest in.
